About Cedar

Cedar is the most commercially important and widely distributed species we carry, prized for its naturally aromatic wood and strong resistance to termites and rot. It’s a moderately lightweight timber, easy to work by hand or machine, with a distinctive pleasant fragrance that has made it the traditional choice for humidors, clothing storage chests, and household articles for generations. It’s also used for tops and veneers on some electric guitars. Sapwood runs light pink to whitish-yellow, deepening into a light-to-dark reddish-brown heartwood marked by distinctive growth rings.
