Tonewoods for instruments and artesanos

Mahogany and other resonance woods from the same inventory used for necks, bodies and fine craft — graded for tone, not only grain.

Some of the mahogany in this inventory is drawn from the same kind of stock used for necks and bodies — sourced and graded with tone, not just figure, in mind. That is a different conversation from furniture: stiffness-to-weight, quartered faces, and boards that will stay quiet after they are carved.

Artesanos and instrument shops also ask for smaller, cleaner cuttings than a flooring run. We keep that in the same catalog so a guitar shop and a cabinet shop can write one desk. Tell us the part — neck, back, lining, carving blank — and the moisture you work at.

If Spanish is your working language, the musical title on this site stays locked so the specification does not drift in translation.
